Today is shades for migraine - a day for migraine awareness.

Light sensitivity is a symptom for many with migraine disease, including me. I wear these sunglasses (with blue light protection too!) to help prevent migraine and treat it (by cutting back a big trigger for me).

I’ve had migraine disease all my life but it got worse in my 30s. I’ve now lived with chronic and episodic migraine (it’s episodic now! Yay) for roughly 15 years.

Migraine disease is overwhelming and debilitating and more than just a headache.

Whether you have migraine disease or not, wear your shades today and spread awareness.

Had a nice, sweet, and yummy date with my husband.

Had a nice, sweet, and yummy date with my husband. We treated ourselves to Outback Steakhouse. They have a 3-course deal going on right now, so we enjoyed a very filling meal.

Fun fact, we used to work at Outback Steakhouse, and that's how we met back in 98. I was a hostess and he worked in the kitchen. He had a mutual friend, Katie, asked me if I'd wanna go to prom with him. I said no (it was a complicated thing), but I would go on a date, so we went to a movie and the rest of history.

This year we've been together 27 years and married for 23 years.

He's my best friend, and I still enjoy spending time with him. Being together so long, sometimes people drift apart, they get annoyed with one another, fall out of love - so, it's nice we still enjoy one another and love one another.

Outback has changed a lot since those days back in 98. The style changes are significant, but the food is still as good as ever.

I'm so happy Katie introduced us to the idea of going out 27 years ago.

And yes, I do now wish I had gone to his prom with him.
